The Ministry of Mines, in consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), has notified the Refined Nickel (Quality Control) Order, 2025. This order makes it mandatory for all refined nickel products to conform to Indian Standard IS 2782:2023 and bear the BIS Standard Mark under a valid licence.
The QCO will come into force six months from its notification date (17 April 2025), making October 2025 the compliance deadline.
